One Week!
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sat, 12/06/2008 - 06:42Only a week until we get to see everyone. We're so excited, but will we get it all done? I have a detailed list to stick to every day until then. I hope everyone is having a nice season and that the wedding plans area coming along. Love you
Slugger
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 11/16/2008 - 21:52Just thought I'd brag on Derek for a bit. He's been playing little league "kid pitch" this fall (finally cool enough to be outside:)). At the start, his favorite position was short stop, because it got the most action, and he loves when there's action. Then he realized there was even more action for the pitcher and catcher. After many hours of practicing with John, me, and his team, he was ready to try out his new skills. He loves both, but especially pitcher.
Eat him up!
Submitted by Craig and Jennie on Sun, 11/09/2008 - 23:18The best looking ear of corn I've ever seen. Couldn't you just eat him up?
Hokanson Family Book Club
Submitted by True and Andrea on Sat, 11/08/2008 - 15:07I guess this is better late than never. Here is the list for this year's Hokanson Family Book Club. Not all the books or months are set in stone so if you have a different or better suggestion, please let me know. Good luck with this month's. It is a book that I LOVE and the kids will love, too. It would be GOOD to check out a copy and read it. It would be BETTER if you purchased your own and it would be BEST if you wrote and highlighted and made notes in your copy. Look up any words you don't know in the dictionary and write them in. Write down the epiphanies (Ah, hah!
The orphaned princess
Submitted by John and Alicia on Thu, 11/06/2008 - 20:30Last night John took Shaylee and Derek to cubs and Activity Days. He's now in the YM so he stayed too. While they were gone, I met a poor, sad little orphaned princess taking care of her little brother. They were hunting for new parents and wondered if I'd like the job. We "shopped" for new clothes since hers were torn. We found many stores full of boys clothes which she didn't want but finally at the bottom of the dresser we found a good store of girls clothes. A lovely blue nightgown was purchased and put on.
The Boy Who Still Loves Olives
Submitted by Craig and Jennie on Tue, 10/28/2008 - 23:58Last week Hayden ate everything in sight, and then asked for more. This week I can't get him to eat anything on his tray. He just begs and begs for my food, even though it is the same food he has been offered. Tonight he cried and begged and I ignored him, figuring if he was really hungry he would eat his own food. It worked...
Busy Week
Submitted by True and Andrea on Sun, 10/26/2008 - 17:37We've had a busy week. It has ended in a cold for me. True wend hunting Friday night and Saturday and had a lot of fun but didn't see any game. I was able to go to Jo Anne's and get some supplies for Christmas surprises. I have made the list for the Book Club but True wanted to look it over and suggest a different book than I suggested for him so I will be sending it out later tonight. Thank you all for your interest and book suggestions. We should have a great year of reading. Alicia, I'm glad you have potential renters and hope it works out for the best.
