Momma Hayden

I know those of us familiar with toddlers hear this all of the time, "______ do it!" (fill in the appropriate toddler's name).  Hayden is full of this phrase. He loves to show me that he can do things himself.  This afternoon was a special case.

Our air-conditioner has been broken since last Sunday and the days have been rather warm.  For the last few days I have been putting Hayden down for his nap in only a diaper, hoping against hope that his diaper would remain firmly in place.  Before nap time today Hayden told me he had a stinky diaper.  I checked and he didn't so I put him to bed.  About fifteen minutes later Craig heard a funny noise on the baby monitor.  Curious noises from curious toddlers deserve investigating.  Craig found him laying flat on his back on the changing table, diaper open and wipe in hand trying to CHANGE HIS OWN DIAPER!

Potty training may be easier than previously thought.

We quickly intervened and finished the job.  I am glad Craig heard that noise or we could have had a very gross mess!!

Yesterday I also found Hayden sitting in Grammy's rocking chair and 'nursing' a stuffed animal.  The bear appeared to be nursing from his belly button.  Folks, we have finally taught him something!  To bad it's not how to give soft kisses without his teeth.
