Posterity

These past two weeks I have been to the Lyle & Viola Hillman family Reunion and last Sunday The Hokanson Siblings had a get together at JoAnn Osborne's where only Mary was missing, she was in Moses Lake visiting Linda.

While at the Hillman Reunion we did a count of the decendents of Lyle and Viola Hillman, 10 children, 51 grandchildren, 119 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren for a toal of 183.  There are several more on the way before the end of the year.

While at JoAnne's we gathered the same information for Brigham and Relia Hokanson.  They have 10 Children, 54 grandchildren, 135 great grandchildren and 32 great great grandchildren for a total fo 231.  An intersting statistic about the Hokanson decendants, they have one set of twin children, 1 set of twin grandchildren and 7 sets of twin great grandchildren.  On the Hillman side there is 1 set of twin children, there were at least 4 sets of twin great grandchildren but only one surviving set so far.

When I subtract our family (17 of us) Lanae and I have 380 nieces and nephews (that is 80 more than I realized) and you have that many cousins from these two families.  One of the comments made at the reunion was that Heavenly Father must have really needed to get a lot of his children here on the Earth in a short time so he is sending twins, so be ready.

This Friday I will be attending the funeral of Grandpa Brigham Hokanson's last sibling, Wilda Viola Hokanson Allred Swenson.  She was married to Zenneth Woodrow Allred, after he passed away she married Louis Eldon Swenson.  The funeral will be in Afton, Wyoming.  Aunt Judy, Uncle J.B., Aunt Loucretia, Aunt JoAnne and I will be attending.  It will be a large gatthering of the Hokanson family from Star Valley.  There will be cousins there that I haven't seen in many years.

Congratulations on being part of such a large posterity.
