It souds like everyone is having a great month of October so far
. Jared and Monica, congrats and I'm glad to hear it is official. I can't wait to see everyone at the wedding. Thanks for sponsoring an event that brings us all together once more. I am looking at the picture strip and the top of the page and am so excited to see all those happy faces in person!
Anyway, the YM and YW in our ward had a hayride tonight. Of course it was hosted by the Pearce's so True got the honor of driving the herd. It was fun and not too cold, when you were by the fire. They had asked True and I to play some campfire songs on guitar and violin so we brought our instruments and braved the cold finger curse. We sang a few hymns and I played Orange Blossom and then it was too cold to continue and the hot chocolate was ready. Kimber and Liberty ended up coming along, too, and had fun with the "big kids".
We bought a red metal framed bunkbed at a yardsale for $10 and put it up yesterday. The bottom bunk is a full size and the top is a twin. The girls have been sleeping on a full size all summer so we just put it on it's new home and voila! a new bed was created. We don't have a matress for the top yet so the kids think it is a jungle gymn. Liberty is literaly a monkey. She will grab the bar and pull her legs up and out in front of her, like the crazies who go to the gymn and use that abb thing (you know which one I mean) and you stick your legs out in front like an "L" in the air. Boy does she have abbs of steel! Tonight True was laying by them and showed Liberty how to hold to a bar with her hands and then stick her toes up through another bar and hang. (Oh, the supports for the mattresses are metal bars that run crosswise the length of the bed.) Don't worry Grandma, she could only fall about 10 inches back onto the bed. She thought it was the best thing ever, of course. So far, the bed is used as a fort, a house, monkey bars, and who know what else the kids will come up with. I just love a multi-talented bed! I'll put pictures up on my blog as soon as I get some.
So, Alicia, what is this I hear about you guys and the wedding? Are you all really coming? Yippee!!!!! I can't wait. Give me all the details so I can make our plans.
I love you all and look forward to the Book Club. It looks like we are going to read some GREAT books this year. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. I'll have the list up in the next day or two.
Oh, and another crazy story about the hazards of raising children. Last night Liberty was throwing around toys with Kimber (they were making them fly! go figure) and she accidently threw one at my eye. Yep, it totally caught me off gaurd and my eye was open. It hurt like crazy for a minute and then died down so I thought all was well. A few minutes later it felt like something was in my eye so I went to look at the mirror and to my amazement, the side of my eyeball was all red and bloodshot. Becuase I couldn't take out my other eye to look at the first to tell what damage had been done, I went to True and asked him to look at it. He didn't know what had happened and suddenly seeing this gross red eye kind of freaked him out for a second. Becuase I could still see normally, we figured I was all right and just needed to rest my eye for a while. Today it is sore, like a bruise, but I think it will be okay. Kimber keeps asking me about it and Liberty keeps trying to kiss it better. Sweet little gals. Yes mom, I will keep an eye on it (get the pun!).
He he, that looks just like me last night! Okay, now I am getting silly. Good night family. I love you all.
