John and Alicia's blog
Hey across the continent
Submitted by John and Alicia on Tue, 07/08/2008 - 22:43I'm noticing we're all on at the same time. I've never seen that happen before. I just thought I tell you all we love you. I hope you're having a great night. I spent it in "doll-surgery" which is a long story I'm waiting to really write about when we get the pictures downloaded to post with it. We'll leave it by saying the "Barity" the doll pulled through and now is resting comfortably with her mama. Hopefully mommy and baby will sleep better now that they have been reunited.
Happy Birthday Hayden
Submitted by John and Alicia on Tue, 07/08/2008 - 22:36He's ONE. Yeah. Happy Birthday cute little Hayden. We love the pictures on your other blog. We thought about you today, but sadly never called and sang to him. Hopefully he won't care if he gets another round of birthday. And yeah to you for making it through the first year of parenthood. It's always a wild party, eh. We're looking forward to Hyrum's next big step, NURSERY!! We've gone in with him the last couple of weeks and he loves it all, especially the snack and the water in tiny cups that he can dump onto the snack.
Bet you can't do this?!
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 06/29/2008 - 23:10Jared, I've got one for you. Tonight we were at the house of a friend and weird body tricks came up in conversation(one person in the room is missing a knuckle so it spurred all sorts of discussion). One person claimed she could tie a knot with her toes and proceeded to show us. Having always prided myself on having agile pea toes, I wasn't going to be left in the dust. I grabbed a shoe and tied that knot. Then the challenge was on, and I went for Gold. I had to try a bow.
ShopVac Now a Verb!
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 06/22/2008 - 21:21People have been known to cope with stress in various ways. Eat too much ice cream, engage in family olympics in the hour while waiting for the carpet installers to come(which a person will likely pay for in sore muscles, but don't ask me), or maybe if pushed to their very limits, experiment with power tools.
IT'S DONE
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 06/22/2008 - 21:00We finally have the house on the market. We're trying the By Owner route for a couple of weeks to see what happens. Hopefully we sell it soon. I'll try and post a couple of pictures so you can all see how cute the house is now. We're pretty proud of it but mostly just glad to be done. What a project.
Housten is 3!

Hyrum's favorite pasttime
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 06/15/2008 - 11:18I think I've finally figured it out. I'm finding I have to use the second way of inserting pictures, but it's no big deal. Thanks for the help Craig. Hope this works.
Hyrum LOVES the water and never seems to get cold, of course it could be the 85 with 100% humidity that helps keep him warm;) And I put in this one of Shaylee and Derek enjoying the swampy water up at a camp some friends live at.
Happy Father's Day/Birthday
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 06/15/2008 - 11:06Dad and Andrea
Happy Father's Day to Dad and Happy Birthday to Andrea. We love you both and hope you're having wonderful days. We're thinking of you.
Picture?
Submitted by John and Alicia on Sun, 06/15/2008 - 11:05
I've tried twice now, and it says the picture has gone to the server, but I'm not seeing it. The windows for size info came up as 0 in both boxes. Any guesses as to what I'm doing wrong? I sent the same picture both times.
Everything is looking nice Craig. I'm sure we have no idea how much energy and time you are putting into this site, but thanks again for doing it. It's so fun to check up on you all
Connecting
Submitted by John and Alicia on Fri, 06/13/2008 - 08:11I'm so grateful for this site. It's been so nice to stay connected to all of you and find out what you each are doing even though I'm so far away. Calling is wonderful and more personal, but I have a hard time calling when I know I'll be interrupted by one of four kids or I'll have to call when they're in bed, which is usually the time most of you are having dinner. I still think calling and visiting is best, but at least with this, I can see and hear about everyone's lives on a daily basis.
